Daochen (Frank) Zha is a highly motivated Ph.D. student with a strong background in computer science and a passion for machine learning. Currently a Research Intern at Facebook, he is conducting research on machine learning systems, developing new algorithms and models to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these systems. Prior to joining Facebook, Frank worked as a Research Intern at Kuaishou Technology, where he studied reinforcement learning in Dou Dizhu, a challenging poker game in China, and explored the use of bandit models for advertisement recommendation systems. He also developed an expertise in exploration in procedurally-generated environments. Frank's academic experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at Texas A&M University, where he conducted research on anomaly detection, reinforcement learning, graph representation learning, and automatic machine learning. He is also the lead developer of RLCard, an open-source toolkit for reinforcement learning in card games that has gained popularity in the research community. Frank holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Wuhan University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rice University. He is expected to complete his doctoral studies in 2023. His research interests include reinforcement learning, machine learning, and recommendation systems. Frank's technical expertise includes research scientist, reinforcement learning, machine learning, and recommendation systems.
